Jumai specializes in complex trauma, Mental Illness and Family Restructuring
Jumai is a registered social worker, currently licensed to practice in Alberta, and Ontario. She has previously worked in areas around complex trauma, borderline/narcissistic personality disorder, mood disorder, relationship problems, self-esteem, and anger management. In session, Jumai uses strength-based and self-compassionate approaches to therapeutic interventions. She is passionate about serving a wide variety of population including children, adults, couples, families, seniors, veterans and active members of Canadian armed forces. She assists you in creating a specialized treatment plan after an initial assessment and helps you move forward with approaches that fit your needs. Jumai’s practice is guided by eye movement desensitization therapy (EMDR) emotional-focused therapy (EFT), dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and narrative therapy (NT). Further, she is certified in advanced Tree of Life” which uses the narrative lens for an Afrocentric and aboriginal narrative practice. Jumai believes everyone should have the opportunity to get support when they are ready and is energized by those looking for the opportunity to a positive change.
