Tania Roy

Registered Clinical Social Work

Master of Psychology & Master of Social Work

I have fifteen years of experience helping individuals with depression, anxiety, stress, mood disorders, marital conflicts, work relationship conflicts, and other issues.

I take a compassionate, client-focused approach. Each individual or family has special circumstances and a unique situation—I follow my client’s lead and help them achieve their full potential for the situation facing them. I believe in mindfulness, which ignites our hidden strengths and makes the wheels go around in our relationships, work, and social connections. I am aware that heuristics or a set of standard rules do not apply to everyone’s situation. I carefully analyze each individual case without presumptions, explore the dark corners that are useful but may have been unattended, and provide recommendations to suit the unique needs of each client.

I work with a broad array of clientele, including individuals, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping individuals be their best selves possible. I like building long-term therapeutic relationships with clients and helping them live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Background

I have two Master’s degrees, one in Social Work from Kean University, New Jersey, and the other in Special Education/Education Psychology from the University of Alberta. I am a registered member of the Alberta College of Social Workers and have been completed by Trauma Competency Training.
