As a counsellor and family conflict specialist, my results-oriented approach helps clients move through the counselling and mediation process quickly and efficiently.
I am a specialized Social Worker who is qualified and registered to perform restricted psychotherapeutic interventions, meaning I have a wealth of knowledge and skill in psychotherapy. In my practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families specializing in relationships, anxiety, child development, family systems and conflict resolution. As the Clinical Director I will also help in brief consultation to ensure you area connected with the right resources.
Over the past 25 years of working in diverse positions, I have developed a goal-oriented and scientifically-based strategy that draws inspiration from my background in psychotherapy, brain development, the Gottman Method, dispute resolution skills and the medicine wheel. This approach allows me to look at my clients holistically, taking into account the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual (purpose) aspects of their lives. My goal is to help you find resolution and longer term mental health. You will have enhanced your relationship with yourself, your partner, friends, and family and become free of the chronic stress and emotional drain of the issues and conflicts that you are facing
When working with couples, utilizing this holistic approach in conjunction with the Gottman method, my couples have time and time again been able to break down relationship barriers and resolve their issues quickly and efficiently to move forward and enjoy life fully.
Anxiety and phobia counselling does not need to take forever. There are tools you can quickly put into place to increase your functioning. My approach to anxiety incorporates several techniques with concrete steps. This also transfers over to my background and training in sports psychology which has aided athletes young and old push through performance challenges.
I also work collaboratively with professionals and organizations like Alberta Justice to provide family support, guidance and assessments for parent planning. My collaborative approach ensures each individual and family is connected to essential resources to help them reach their goals.
Wendy’s counselling fees are covered under medical plans and we direct bill for her services, but all plans are unique so please consult directly with your meidcal plan whether it covers psychological services and allows direct billi
Wendy Jebb has earned three degrees, the first in Psychology with sports psychology and brain development focus along with two degrees in Clinical Social Work and Social Policy this is combined with certifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution. From the beginning, she took a special interest in working with seniors, children and persons with disabilities, who are the most vulnerable to neglect and abuse. During her time at school, she worked with organizations to develop and execute programs to ensure the protection and provide support to this population. At the same time Wendy worked with Alberta Mental Health running At Risk teen treatment groups.
After graduation, she continued to follow her passion for ensuring safety for those who often don’t have a voice by working in Child Protection Services specializing in sexual abuse cases as well as working for SAIF, managing programs for family abuse and elder abuse.
In 2005, she began working for the Government of Alberta, hoping to enact a greater change in the form of policy and program development. Here, she investigated early intervention and prevention programs with Alberta Children’s Services, created and launched 22 Alberta Parent Link Centres and brought the Triple P Parenting Program to Alberta seeking to prevent and treat social, emotional and behavioural problems in children by enhancing parents’ knowledge, skills and confidence. She has also worked as a university instructor for Social Policy, Child Development and Counselling at McMaster University and MacEwan University. Wendy has also acted as Program Manager for CASA managing 6 teams and working with Child Psychiatrists enacting services and programs for children’s mental health.
Wendy has been practicing as a therapist registered and approved to perform restricted psychotherapy and also acting as divorce and family mediator in her own private practice since 2005. Here, she has continued to work with children but began specializing in high conflict families and couples. In 2010, she became a BCI Mediator working for Alberta Justice Dispute Resolution and grew her knowledge in the areas of mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
Today she brings that experience to her practice by utilizing alternative dispute resolution in her mediation sessions to carry through separation, divorce and parent coordination.
3 Degrees in Psychological and Social work. A level 3 Gottman Couple Therapist. A Registered Parent Coordinator/Arbitrator/Mediator and Divorce Coach and Collaborative Law professional. Wendy has 20 years of experience including teaching at Universities, Creating Mental health programs for the Government, A Senior Manager at CASA. She Can direct bill all above including RCMP and Veterans affairs. Mediation may not be covered by plans and parties will need to speak with Wendy about this fees are $210-$250
