Children, Youth, Adults & Couples

I am a Psychotherapist working with children , youth and their families, adults and couples as a Certified Canadian Counsellor.

My counselling practice is guided by the principles of respect, cultural curiosity, empowerment, and self-efficacy. I have experience with children with trauma, behavior and divorce. I have a special interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Relationship Theory and play based interventions. I have extended experience working with at risk your and parents as well as a youth pastor and provide Faith Based Counselling when requested. I am also trained in Gottman Method and support couples using Gottman and ACT approaches. In working with children and youth I also have experience and training in the area of assessment and can support you and your child in understanding behaviors and needs.

I am passionate about supporting and empowering children and youth from a variety of backgrounds. I currently work as a Child and Youth Care Worker (CYCW) and provide emotional and social supports to children and youth at a therapeutic residential treatment campus in the Edmonton Area. Prior to becoming a CYCW, I worked as a youth pastor at a church in Edmonton for five years providing a variety of supports and opportunities for young people. I received my Masters in Religious Studies from the University of Alberta in 2019, and my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta in 2011.

I acknowledge that I live on Treaty 6 territory, and respect the traditional knowledge, territories, and peoples of this land. As our society continues to learn about the legacy of colonialism in Canada, I continue to seek ways to decolonize my own practices.
